BEN NEEDHAM-WOOD
and SANDRINE CASSINI

Dance Theatre of San Francisco presents the Season 6 Fall Program featuring the world premiere of And If It's Still Black Outside by Sandrine Cassini (Paris Opera Ballet, Royal New Zealand Ballet); the reprisal of Cooties (2015) by Ben Needham-Wood (Smuin Ballet); and the restaging of From Now On (2017) by Robert Dekkers and Vanessa Thiessen (Post:Ballet), which features the live music of local band, The Living Earth Show.
Sandrine Cassini’s world premiere of And If It's Still Black Outside is a pas de deux inspired by her recent experiences with depression. Ben Needham-Wood's Cooties is a heartwarming ballet that explores the joys and comical drama of childhood. And Robert Dekkers is teaming up with Vanessa Thiessen to restage From Now On, with significant contributions by the dance artists. The ballet was originally created for Diablo Ballet in 2017 and is inspired by H.G. Wells' The Invisible Man. It features an original score by Dennis Aman (Bay Area), and the music is performed live by musical ensemble The Living Earth Show (Travis Andrews and Andy Meyerson).
